Many years ago I received a gedcom file from Christo Heymans with extensive notes for many of the individuals in the file. This is one of those notes.
Jan Gert heymans married Martha Magdalena Catharina Petronella Gertruida Sophia Greyling on 21 November 1853.
Jan Gert Heymans and Martha Magdalena Catharina P G S GREYLING were married by Ds. P Roux has been confirmed in marriage. The witnesses were H J Joubert and J F Klopper.
Martha Magdalena Catharina P G S Greyling experienced the Great Trek as a child.
Martha Magdalena Catharina P G S Greyling was a 20-year-old young lady, from the farm ? (probably Roodedam) to Grahamstadspruit, dist Smithfield, when she was confirmed in marriage to Jan Gert HEYMANS.
Jan Gert Heymans was a 27-year-old cattle farmer from the farm Klipfontein, district Smithfield, when he was confirmed in marriage to Martha Magdalena C P G S GREYLING.
The farm “Driekuil No. 53, dist Ladybrand size 1729 morgen and 80 sq. rod = (1037480)”, was registered in his name on 11 March 1884. The title deed was a Land Deed indicating that Jan Gert bought the farm from the state. The farm fell into the “conquered territory”.
The farm Driekuil was divided among the following eight children, namely:
Anna Catharina Elizabeth inherits the remaining part of the farm Driekuil No. 53, size 212 morg and about 75 sq. rod;
Paul Jacobus inherits Mauritz No. 593, size 222 morg and 317 sq. rod;
Abraham Carel inherits Goedehoop No. 594, size 222 morg and 317 sq. rod;
Johannes Barend inherits Loskop No. 595, size 222 morg and 317 sq. rod;
Jacobus Frederik erf Weltevreden No. 596, size 212 morg and 75 sq. rod;
Martha Magdalena Catharina erf Holfontein No. 597, size 222 morg and 317 sq. rod;
Susanna Hendrina inherits Susannasrush No. 598, size 222 morg and 317 sq. rod;
Catharina Magdalena inherits Rooikraal No. 599, size 192 morgue and 75 & five ninths sq. rod.
The eldest child, Jan Gert * 13 December 1853, was reportedly disinherited.
